New Sites In The Spotlight
The Regional Trials Network- Victoria welcomes new sites Mildura Base Public Hospital and Latrobe Regional Hospital to the Network.
The Project Team had the opportunity to visit Mildura Base Public Hospital in May and were blown away by the support and excitement of the Executive Team.

RTN Workshop and ReViTALISE Launch
The Lancemore at Macedon Ranges (pictured above) was the venue for our 2 day RTN workshop and ReViTALISE Project Launch.
The first day was a chance for the RTN-Vic members to workshop the Networks primary focus for the next 12 months and discuss their hopes for the Networks future.
The second day was a meeting with the entire team where the ReViTALISE Initiative Co- Leads pitched their ideas to the group with opportunities for people to ask questions, work through strategies of potential issues and share knowledge.
The name of this project is the Regional Victoria Trials Alliance: Linkages, Innovation, Special populations, Equity (ReViTALISE) project. The project will run over 5 years and has been funded $18.6 million under the National Critical Research Infrastructure Initiative announced as part of the Commonwealth Governments Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).
The meeting proved a great networking and knowledge sharing experience. 100% of attendees responding to our survey said that they would come to next years meeting.
RTN-Vic 2020
2020 was a challenge for all of us. COVID19 creating difficulties both in our work spaces as well as for service delivery and Clinical Trials was no exception.
The Oncology community were quick to pivot to a new way of working and sharing information with the VCCC and Monash partners starting a COVIDCANCER Slack Channel to assist with news relating to Cancer and COVID.
The 2020 Clinical Trial data from the RTN shows that there was a slight dip in patient numbers for 2020 but number of clinical trials did rise slightly.
Pleasingly we have seen increase in recruiting trials of 75% since 2017 and a 23% improvement in patients recruited since 2017
