  • Participated in over 60 medical oncology and haematology trials, recruiting over 300 participants.
  • Participating Site capacity 20 trials
  • The clinical trials portfolio aims to support the most common cancer streams (breast, lung, colorectal, urology and skin cancer) and is a mixture of commercial, non-commercial and investigator initiated trials.
  • Tumour streams include: breast, lung, colorectal, upper GI, urology, skin, melanoma, brain, rare cancers and various registry studies.
  • More than 60 years’ combined experience acting as Principal Investigator on clinical trials
  • Over 60 years combined Study Coordinator experience
  • Research Team includes 8 Investigators, 1 Research
    Manager, 1 Data Manager, 6 Study Coordinators and 1 Trials Pharmacist

The Bendigo Cancer Centre Clinical Trials unit is located in the Bendigo Cancer Centre. The Bendigo Cancer services provides oncology and radiotherapy services. Bendigo Health provides medical oncology services and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre providers radiotherapy services.

  • Chemotherapy Day Unit comprising 18 treatment chairs including three rooms with a private bed
  • Dedicated clinical trials space and central processing facilities
  • Laboratory processing facilities with Refrigerated Centrifuge, Minus 20 Freezer, Minus 80 Freezer, Refrigerated Storage
  • On-site compounding Pharmacy with secure, controlled access and storage of IP
  • NATA accredited local Pathology to provide:
  • Local phlebotomy, processing and reporting services
  • Archival and fresh tissue preparation
  • On-site radiotherapy facilities for combination clinical trials, housing two dual modality linear accelerators with IMRT and capacity for a third machine. Radiotherapy services are provided by Peter MacCallum Bendigo
  • On-site Imaging – Bendigo Health - Access to CT, MRI, PET, Image guided biopsy, Bone Density / DEXA Scan, X-ray, Ultrasound
  • Dedicated monitoring facilities
  • Adherence to GCP certification, IATA dangerous goods handling, and documented SOPs.
  • Time to approval = 2-3 weeks post Lead site approval
